Tailored Content Demonstration

Smoking Cessation Program

Step 1
Creating a profile
Step 2
Generating the Parameters
of the Tailored Message
Step 3
Creating the Specific Message

Each individual completes a profile describing themselves and their smoking behavior. The profile is used as the basis for setting a series of messages with one message delivered each day. The sequence is initially keyed upon their learning style and then their stage of readiness to make a change.

For this example, the following parameters are used to create the on the fly tailored message. Each parameter is color coded for this demonstration so you can see how each element of profile maps to an element of the specific message that is created..

Element of Profile   Potential Options based on Profile

Demographic   Adult, Teen
Intervention Strategies   Cutting Down, Pharmaceutical support – anxiety and/or withdrawal, Cold Turkey, Fading (brand switching)
Behavioral: Stage of Readiness   Contemplation, Preparation, Action, Relapse
Timeframe   Days, Weeks, Months
Triggers   Emotional, Environmental, Physical
Learning style   Storyteller, Planner, Tracker
